Andrew J. Freedman

Andrew J. Freedman graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1992 and received his law degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law in 1996. He concentrates his practice in the area of Education Law, representing clients before the Commissioner of Education, serving as a Hearing Officer and/or representing clients in §3214 Student Discipline matters, and representing schools in all phases of Special Education litigation. He regularly advises Boards of Education on their powers and duties under New York State Education Law, and conducts policy reviews and practical policy implementation as well.

Mr. Freedman is a member of the Erie County Bar Association and the past Chairman of the Erie County Bar Association School and Municipal Law Committee. He is also a member of the New York State Bar Association and the New York State School Attorneys Association. He is a frequent speaker on legal issues impacting school districts. He is admitted to practice before the New York State Courts and the United States District Court for the Western District of New York.

In addition to his active school law practice, Mr. Freedman is adjunct faculty at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law where he teaches Education Law. He is also adjunct faculty at Canisius College in the School of Education Administration and Buffalo State College in the Education Administration Program, where he teaches School Law.
