Affordable Care Act "Pay-or-Play Rules":
Know Your "Shared Responsibility"
March 28, 2013
Noon - 1:00 PM
Ready or not, the deadline for implementing the main phase of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is rapidly approaching. Specifically, on January 1, 2014, the "employer shared responsibility" provisions (otherwise known as the "pay-or-play rules") go into effect. The IRS recently issued a set of proposed regulations - along with "Questions and Answers" - providing guidance on these rules. This webinar will explore what we know now and what we can expect with regard to the following:
Who are the "large employers" required to provide insurance to their employees or pay the penalties?
What are the penalties?
To be a "large employer" you must have at least 50 'full-time equivalent" (FTE) employees. What are FTEs?
How intermittent, temporary and seasonal employees should be treated under these rules.
How do you determine whether the coverage you offer is affordable and meets minimum coverage and value requirements?
Remember, you have less than a year to get answers to these and other questions and to implementthe best compliance strategy for your company. This is not something that you can put off to the last minute.
Our presenter for this timely webinar will be Michael L. Dodd, a partner at Ferrara, Fiorenza, Larrison, Barrett & Reitz, P.C. Mr. Dodd's practice is dedicated to representing employers in all employment-law-related matters.
