Harassment in the Schools: What the Courts are Telling Us

The law of harassment is constantly changing and expanding. This program provides school districts and BOCES with an up-to-minute explanation of the current law of harassment of employees and students in the school environment. It also includes a detailed review of the educational client’s own anti-harassment policies to satisfy the training requirements placed on all employers seeking to insulate themselves from harassment lawsuits. Toward this end, the program should be presented to administrators, instructional and non-instructional staff annually.

Specifically, the program covers the following:

• What is and is not harassment
• Tangible employment action discrimination
• Hostile environment harassment
• Student-to-Student harassment
• Harassment investigations
• Recent cases
• Review of Anti-Harassment Policy
