Immigration Law for Business
In order to remain competitive in the current world marketplace, businesses must be willing to hire the brightest and best professionals from around the world. While immigration processes can be frustrating and time-consuming, the potential for economic growth makes the endeavor not only worthwhile but essential for the long-range success of today’s global competitor.
Our firm’s immigration practice provides both non-immigrant and immigrant visa processing, including representation before the New York State and Federal Departments of Labor, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, and the U.S. Department of State Consular Services.
Our approach to this practice is both advisory and practical. Initially, we explore visa options in light of each employer's short and long-term needs for foreign employees generally, and for specific foreign workers in particular. Following this analysis, we assist the employer through the application processes and regulatory compliance.
We also provide advice, guidance and representation in matters involving the Immigration Reform and Control Act, which requires employers to verify the employment eligibility of each employee through the I-9 process, while prohibiting discrimination against foreign workers.
