Craig serves our firm as Senior Counsel. Craig offers clients more than 30 years of experience in education, labor, and employment law, representing school districts, BOCES, municipalities, and private sector clients on matters including:

Representation and counsel with respect to school districts and BOCES matters including employment and labor relations, student matters, business issues, and assistance in compliance with the Education Law, and related laws such as the Freedom of Information Law, the Open Meetings Law, and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. He frequently serves as a hearing officer for student disciplinary matters.

Assisting clients with appointment, assignment, seniority and tenure, counseling of and discipline of employees, and compliance with laws regarding employment discrimination, wages and hours, and persons with disabilities.

Counseling on health insurance issues including matters related to health benefits for current employees and retirees, prescription drugs, the Affordable Care Act, health insurance consortiums, grievances, and arbitration.

Litigating on subjects including employment and benefits, tenure and seniority laws, arbitration and unemployment insurance, including appeals to the New York State Court of Appeals, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the Appellate Division.

Representation and Counsel before state and federal agencies including the New York State Public Employment Relations Board, the New York State Division of Human Rights, the Commissioner of Education, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Labor and the Unemployment Insurance Appeal Board.

Working closely with employers involved in labor relations matters including resolving disputes, providing assistance with grievances, representation in arbitration, negotiations, mediation, and fact finding.

Assisting clients in compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, the New York State Minimum Wage Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act.

Training clients and outside organizations on a broad range of topics. He is an approved instructor for Dignity for All Students Act certification training.
