Nicholas Fiorenza

Nick assists public and private employers of all types in a broad range of employment and labor relations issues, including:

  • Representation and counsel with respect to labor relations matters such as the defense of unfair labor practice charges, advice regarding union organization drives, collective bargaining, grievance administration, arbitrations, and related proceedings.
  • Day to day advice and counsel with respect to a myriad of unique workplace management issues.
  • Defense of employment discrimination/workplace harassment claims based on protected categories (e.g., race, gender, religion, age, disability, national origin, sexual orientation, etc.).
  • Representation and counsel for employers before state and federal agencies, including the Department of Labor, the New York State Division of Human Rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and others.
  • Representation and counsel with respect to employer legal compliance programs, policy and handbook development, preventative audits and human resource program reviews.
  • Counsel and drafting with respect to employment contracts, nondisclosure agreements, confidentiality and related employee covenants.
  • Counsel with respect to the unique employment and labor relations aspects of corporate acquisitions.
  • Representation and counsel with respect to all types of employment-related litigation.

Nick is a graduate of the Binghamton University and the George Washington University National Law Center, where he pursued a concentration in labor relations and employment law. His practice has been dedicated to this area for his entire career. Early on, Fiorenza served as General Counsel and President of the Printing and Imaging Association of New York State, Inc. During this period he was responsible for the daily business management of all aspects of this statewide trade association, as well as for representing the individual employment law and labor relations interests of the group’s many member companies. Nick expanded his private practice and eventually began his own law firm dedicated solely to labor relations and employment law employer representation. He is a founding Partner of Ferrara Fiorenza.

In addition to his active practice, Nick has developed and presented comprehensive managerial workshops on many topics impacting the workplace, including effective legal compliance, building a successful leadership team, performance management and workplace discipline, and others. He is a frequent speaker with respect to such topics.

Fiorenza practices before administrative agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the New York State Division of Human Rights, the Public Employment Relations Board, the National Labor Relations Board, the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board, and others.
