
Susan T. Johns is a Founding Partner at Ferrara Fiorenza, PC with more than 40 years of experience providing legal counsel and representation on behalf of public school districts and BOCES with regard to the broad range of legal issues confronting those clients.
During her career, Susan developed a particular expertise in legal issues surrounding the education of students with disabilities, both under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
She regularly represents school districts in impartial hearings and appeals to the New York State Office of State Review and in Federal Courts, but prefers to advise clients on how best to avoid disputes and be in the best position should a dispute arise.
Susan teaches Education Law in the Educational Leadership Department at the State University of New York at Cortland, and frequently lectures on education law topics.
Susan has been recognized by Upstate New York Super Lawyers as one of the “Best Lawyers” in the field of School and Education Law.
