Wendy K. DeWind

Wendy K. DeWind, a partner in our Firm, offers clients over 25 years of experience in education and employment law.

Wendy represents school districts on a wide range of student and employment matters. She advises on issues related to students with disabilities, including matters arising under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, the ADAA, and state and federal anti-discrimination laws. Her practice also encompasses student discipline, harassment and bullying, employee relations, Board governance, risk assessment, and conflict avoidance.

Wendy represents school districts before impartial hearing officers, the New York State Review Officer, Office for Civil Rights, NYS Division of Human Rights, and federal courts on disability-related matters.

Wendy additionally represents several self-funded health insurance and workers' compensation plans consisting of school district members.

A former Trustee of the Southern Tier Special Education Task Force, Wendy is a frequent lecturer on public school district issues throughout New York State.
